Bulkeley House is the culmination of a years long fascination with fabrics, textile mills and the enduring, classical style from New England and its namesake across the Atlantic. We are a reaction to the ceaseless trend cycles and continually declining quality of garments and the increase of thermoplastics to make them. As such heavy emphasis is paid to reducing consumption and reverence is owed to natural fibers like cotton, linen, the near miraculous wool and to the skilled artisans who ply their trade weaving them into fine fabrics. We are a voice to say that the future does not belong exclusively to synthetic fabrics, technical garments and digital fashion, that there’s still a place for wools, cottons, linens and silks whose cultivation and use extends far beyond the last millennia of human existence.
